Rentals are the way to go if you want to retire to a quiet place away from the bustle of holidaymakers. Fortunately, Playas del Coco has several beautiful ocean-view rental properties. I have reviewed five excellent properties that will make your stay comfortable.
Jeannayas Home -Private Infinity Pool
It’s a single-floor house 20 minutes from Liberia International Airport. The house is on top of a mountain in Isabella’s gated community. Playas del Coco is 10 minutes away. All the rooms in the house have spectacular ocean views. The house offers the following.
- Master and second bedroom: Both rooms have a full bathroom and a terrace with two-person seating. They also have closets, air conditioning, and a remote.
- Kitchen: It is next to the living and dining rooms. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment, such as an electric kettle, microwave, rice cooker, dishes, pans, and all utensils. Provisions such as salt, pepper, and cooking oil are available.
- The living and dining room has a half bathroom.
- BBQ area: It’s next to the pool and has gas and charcoal options.
- The laundry room has a washer and dryer exclusively for your use.
- Infinity pool: The pool is used only by guests at the house. Around the pool, outdoor furniture includes seating for 8 people and 4 long chairs.
You won’t have access to the garage, but there is a parking space for three cars within the property. Amenities include cable T.V., WiFi, fibre optic internet access, a safe deposit box, beach towels, clean sheets, towels, beach chairs, and pet-friendly. However, the pet must be small or medium in size.
Security is sufficient since the house is in a safe gated community. A fence surrounds the house, and you can control the gate using a remote. The bus stop is five minutes away from the main entrance of the gated community.
Nearby attractions include Numu Taproom restaurant, which is a 6-minute walk away, and Zi Lounge and Coconutz, which are 12 minutes away.
Villa Mariposa-Private Beach
It’s one of the eight Bahia Pez Vela Resort Villas in a secluded cove. The fully equipped three-bedroom villa is next to Coco Beach. From the villa, you’ll have a great view of the Papagayo Gulf while listening to the quiet waves of the Pacific. You can request for paid pick-up/drop-off services.
The primary bedroom has a walk-in shower, while the two guest bedrooms are spacious. The open-concept kitchen, as well as a living and dining room, are also present. Amenities include cable TV, internet access, air conditioning, a patio, and a laundry room. However, the villas’ management does not allow pets.
The eight villas share amenities such as an infinity pool, a private ebony beach, a Picante restaurant, and maid service (optional). There is a children’s pool within the resort.
Casa Barranco- Between Two Beaches
Casa Barranco is a four-bedroom house in Coco Bay Estate, a gated community between Playas del Coco and Playa Ocotal. It has an ocean view of Playas del Coco and a sweeping view of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano.

Pacifico C-306-Condo
Pacifico C-306 is a two-bedroom condo on the third floor with an ocean view overlooking red tile roofs. It is eight blocks from Playas del Coco. The property’s management can arrange airport transfers or car rentals.
The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and a bar for three people. A welcome basket contains coffee, shampoo, conditioner, salt, pepper, cooking oil, and the famous salsa Lizano (Costa Rican sauce).
One of the bedrooms has a king bed, TV, and an ocean view. The second bedroom has a queen bed. Both bedrooms share an attached bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. The living room has a sectional sofa.
The condominium complex’s shared amenities include four swimming pools and a poolside bar/restaurant. A grocery store is outside the gates. Check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is by 10 AM.
Villa Serena -Wet Bar
The private luxury villa is in a gated community with 24/7 security. You’ll have paid access to Pacifico Beach Club, a gym, and a restaurant bar.
- Bedrooms: Three bedrooms and three bathrooms accommodate around eight people.
