Andy’s Rent a Car Grand Cayman (Review & Prices)

If you are visiting the Cayman Islands and looking to rent a car, you’ll certainly come across Andy’s rent a car. I feel that car rentals in Grand Cayman are well worth it and allow you to properly explore this amazing country.

Today I’ll share with you all you need to know about Andy’s Rent a Car, including where their locations are, what the customer satisfaction is like, and all details you need about this business.

Andy’s Car Rental Reviews

This agency gets a 3.5 star rating (out of 5) on TripAdvisor. Most of the reviews I read were about the vehicles needing maintenance or not having the car rental that was reserved. Here’s a sample below.

A lot of the positive reviews cite the friendly staff and multiple locations, but in a country as small as the Cayman Islands, an airport location is really all that’s needed in my opinion.

Andy’s Rent a Car Features

Established in 1987, Andy’s is a family owned business in Grand Cayman.

Again, they have three locations, which I listed at this end of this review. They also offer baby seats, so if you are traveling with little ones, you won’t have to worry about bringing one with you. They rent jeeps, vans, and a wide range of automatic cars.

They also offer a free shuttle service from the Seven Mile Beach office to any hotel from Georgetown to Seven Mile Beach.

Upon returning your vehicle, you will get a courtesy shuttle back to your hotel or directly to the Owen Roberts Airport.

While I’d rent at the airport for convenience reasons, their main office is the one across from the Marriott Resort. That location seems to be the business hub.

Services offered are daily and weekly rates. They do have much higher rates in the winter season as that’s when tourism is much higher. Rates do include unlimited mileage no matter which vehicle you select.

Prices to Rent a Car From Andy’s

Getting down to brass tacks, let’s compare the prices offered on their website to that of my preferred car rentals agency, Discovercars.

A compact car for the Summer is $270 per week at Andy’s. (See prices here.)

When I ran a search at Discover Cars (full review of this rental service here), I get to choose from multiple rental car agencies in Grand Cayman and the 8 day price came out to be $185.

This competitive cost is because DiscoverCars has partnerships all over the world. This particular search matched me up with Enterprise, which is even better for me as a loyalty program member. So for this particular island, I’d recommend you book through their search engine in order to get the best deals from any company they are partnered up with. I suggest you rent with them in any location, as they provide a one stop shop to book cars in one account.

You simply print your voucher and show up at the desk of whatever company you chose, and in a seamless manner you an start your visit with your wheels ready to go!

Summary

Andy’s Rent a Car is a family owned business with a lot of history in the Cayman Islands. Their longevity alone is impressive and has to be a testament to customer satisfaction. However, if you look around you probably can get better deals as I showed using my car rental agency of choice.
