The day pass ticket at Baldi Hot Springs in Costa Rica lets you relax in 25 hot pools, explore the lush surroundings, and enjoy water slides. Lunch and dinner can be included, too. The tickets are obtained onsite and last from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The price ranges from $47 to $91 per adult.
Baldi Hot Spring Resort Hotel is about 5 kilometers from the center of La Fortuna, along the main road leading to Lake Arenal. Locals often rave about it to visitors because it’s one of the best spots for hot springs.
My partner and I decided to try out Baldi Hot Springs by getting a day pass. We hoped to find a place that was peaceful but also had great views. When we arrived, I thought it was the perfect spot to relax after a busy day exploring La Fortuna. It has a theme park vibe, but not in the wrong way. However, we did learn some things the hard way once we got there.
So, if you’re thinking of spending a day at Baldi, keep reading to find out about the price of the day pass, how to get it, what it includes, and other important things you should know before you go.

Meanwhile, children under five can enter for free, with a maximum of five children per group under this age limit. Children 11 years old or older will need to pay the adult rate for admission.

How to Buy Baldi Day Pass Tickets
The best and easiest way to buy a day pass ticket for Baldi Hot Spring Resort is onsite. Just show up and purchase the tickets when you arrive at the reception of the Hot Spring Resort in La Fortuna.
However, some tour options eliminate the hassle or risk of heading to the reception and finding out things for yourself.
These tour packages will even provide food and drinks for your journey.
For example, this Baldi Hot Springs Day Pass with Optional Meals Tour on Viator allows you to access the resort. The cost starts from $59 per person. You will spend about 12 hours at the resort, and lunch and dinner are included if you choose and pay for the package.
I can also recommend the one-day pass-trip tour from Arenal Canopy. They give a special rate to people who book with them, which is relatively lower than buying directly at the front desk.
You have to be careful before going with these tour companies, though.
Some are just the same thing as heading to the place itself because they won’t offer alcoholic drinks, transportation to/from the attraction, or the $7 per person security guard.
What I Disliked About the Baldi Resort Day Pass
Baldi Costa is a beautiful place, but I have experienced some inconveniences that you may need to look out for. First of all, my partner’s day pass ticket didn’t include lunch, so I didn’t try the food there, and I can’t say anything about it. We tried a few other restaurants nearby.
However, one massive downside to the Baldi Hot Spring Resort is that the showers didn’t have warm water or toiletries, and there wasn’t anywhere to put your stuff while you showered.
Quick Tip:
- Grab your towels after you finish in the pools so you don’t have to carry them all day.
Another downside is that, indeed, the area and hot springs are beautiful, but if you’re looking for water slides, you might want to go somewhere else. The slides here are artificial, not pre-built.
Apart from that, the pools were enjoyable. But avoid the spa.
I had a 40-minute facial, during which they cleaned my face, applied a scrub, wiped it off, and put on a mask. The facial massage only lasted four to five minutes, and most of the time was spent with the mask on. It felt like a waste of money.
They even asked for payment before the facial, which made me think that other customers might have had similar experiences. Baldi Resort needs to improve its spa management, in my opinion
Still, I had a wonderful time relaxing at Baldi for an afternoon. Even though I saw lots of people checking in and around the changing rooms, it wasn’t as crowded as we expected, which was nice.
Friendly Advice:
- If you want fewer crowds, try to arrive before 4 p.m. When I went in June and arrived at 2 p.m., I had several pools all to myself. But around six or 6:30 p.m., it was really crowded. There were no seats available at any of the bars, and it was packed.
Baldi Costa Rica Day Pass Review—Is it Worth it?
Based on my experience, it’s definitely worth it. The price of the day pass is quite reasonable compared to other resorts in Costa Rica, like Margaritaville or the Westin.
At Baldi, the hot springs are stunning and very relaxing, and the water slides were a lot of fun. I had a great time watching people slide down, even though they were a bit intense. The price might be higher for tourists compared to locals, but in the end, it’s worth the cost.
Overall, I believe the Baldi Resort day pass is a good value, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing spot after a busy day of activities.
