Beach Republic

Lately, I’ve been telling you about one of my new favorite islands to visit, KohSamui in Thailand. In fact, I’ve been there four times now over the last five years, and every time I make the trip to Samui, it doesn’t disappoint.

Beach RepublicAnd while my travel style can best be described as “Baller on a (TIGHT) budget,” I do pick and choose opportunities to shell out some cash and enjoy the finer things in life. That includes the finer places in life, including Beach Republic in KohSamui.

Located on the main beach road that leads from Lamai Beach to the more crowded and popular Chewang Beach, Beach Republic is a private resort and condominium complex with its own gorgeous oceanfront promenade.

Of course, you can book a hotel room there, and they have 39 private villas, penthouses, and suites that are seriously nice – I’d say 4 or 5 star accommodation at 4-star prices. But, even if that’s out of your budget (like in my case), you can also come hang out at Beach Republic during the day and night without booking a room.

In fact, that’s the best part of Beach Republic – they welcome and encourage visitors so you can enjoy the 5-star resort life without shelling out the cash.

They have nightly entertainment specials that bring in plenty of people, including:

Thank God It’s Monday
The Tuesday Blend
Wicked Wednesday
Big Fish Thursday
Fiesta Friday
Soulful Saturday
Sunday Sessions

Sunday Sessions are one of my favorites, as it’s basically a huge Sunday Funday chill by the beach and recover day. However, you can get that same experience at Beach Republic every single day since they have a Sundown Salute every afternoon and early evening, which is described as “Samui’s most beautiful happy hour.”

But before I tell you more about the nightlife and entertainment, I’d be remiss if I didn’t share the true attraction – the waterfront fun. You can actually choose to hang out at their luxurious pool, right on their perfect white sand beach, or both, as they are right on top of each other! Their infinity pool has plenty of comfortable chairs, sun beds, and pavilions for you to chill, and then only a row of palm trees separates you from dipping your toes in the sand and taking a swim in the crystal clear ocean.

So it’s no surprise that Beach Republic regularly wins some really prestigious international awards as one of the best resorts in the world, including from The New York Times Travel and CNNGo, which called it “a must-visit destination.”

The Beach Republic restaurant is also conveniently located right by the pool and beach, and they take their food seriously. In Thailand, good food is everywhere, but Beach Republic takes local Thai cuisine to a new level, including Asian fusion and also a complete Mediterranean menu. But my favorite is their legendary all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch!

If you needed more to do at Beach Republic, visit their Whisgars high-end whiskey bar and cigar lounge, with some of the best single malts and hand-rolled cigars from all around the world. They also have an Escapology room that’s fun for the family or on a rainy day and, of course, you can access everything else to do or see in KohSamui right from Beach Republic’s front door.

It’s a Samui can’t miss experience!
