Best Nightlife Spots in Jacó

Jacó is a fun surf town in Costa Rica with energetic nightlife spots scattered around. From beach bars to adult hangouts, you will definitely find the perfect nightlife spot that suits the kind of fun you are looking to experience in Jaco.

It was the much-talked-about nightlife of Jaco and how wild it is that drove my husband and I to come to Jaco town to see things for ourselves. We were on a short vacation, so we had all the time in the world to explore the nightlife in Jaco.

We visited beach bars, fancy pubs, and breweries to have a taste of the local craft beers, nightclubs, and a couple adult hangouts (strip clubs) to drink and dance our hearts out till the crack of dawn.

While some night spots exceeded our expectations, some were just average, and the rest were below par. 

In this article, I will share with you the best nightlife spots we explored in Jaco.

Republik Lounge

This is a nice spot to dance and chill out in Jaco. It is one of the most popular nightclubs in town and very safe and secure for tourists to visit.

Republik Lounge has both an interior and exterior party area. The interior is the main area with two bars, lots of VIP tables, and a dance floor at the center, while the exterior is a large outdoor pool surrounded by plenty of chairs and tables.

Apart from paying and dancing, the food here is delicious, and the drinks are quite affordable too. The service, atmosphere, and music selection will keep you dancing all night long.

XTC

XTC is one of the popular go-to nightclubs in town. It is always packed full of people and has very tight security. The atmosphere here is cool, and the music is lively as well. 

However, there are two turns off to this place. The drinks are way too expensive compared to other nightclubs in town, and you are not allowed to touch or talk to the strippers in the club.

So if you did not come with your lady as a man, best rest assured that you would be dancing alone except a lady starts talking to you and asks you to dance with her.

Regardless, XTC has a very nice atmosphere, and sitting on the rooftop is the highlight of the entire building.

The Back Room

Everyday is a party day in the back room. It is always packed full of people who are ready to dance all night till the crack of dawn. The reception here is nice, as is the service and atmosphere.

What I love most is that the prices of drinks here are reasonable compared to most nightclubs in Jaco Town. 

However, just like the other nightclubs in town, I would advise you to keep your valuables close, and it is best you come with cash instead of your credit card for your safety. Regardless, the club is okay and the music is good.

 

Beach Bar

Jaco Bar is a great spot situated a few meters from the beach to unwind and enjoy delicious food and drinks while you listen to a live band and dance all through the night. 

Unlike some night spots in Jaco where everything is done inside the building, Jaco bar has outdoor seating where you can watch the street and the world go by while sipping some cold beer.

There is also an area where you can watch sports on TV and an array of tasty food you can try at the bar. I recommend you give their fish and chips, cheddar burger, fish tacos, guacamole, and barbecue Cuban sandwich with chips a try when you visit.

Aside from the food, the atmosphere here is welcoming, and the staff is friendly, attentive, and offers great service.

Clarita’s Beach Bar

Clarita’s beach bar Is one of the famous open-air beach bars in Jaco. It does not just have a bar but also a grill section where you can enjoy some barbecue fish with sauce and a hotel where you can lodge for the night in case you can not return to your accommodation.

The amazing thing about Clarita’s beach bar is the opportunity it gives to have a spectacular sunset view, and the beach is clean for you to sit anywhere and have a great meal.

The food here is very tasty and healthy, and the service and atmosphere are top-notch. However, the only downside is that food and drinks are pricey here.

Tiki Bar

This bar, just like Clarita’s beach bar, is right in front of the beach and has enough space for guests to sit and dine. The sunset view is incredible, and they have a large variety of delicious meals on their menu.

I recommend you try out dishes like quesadilla, ceviche mix , seafood soup, Tiki tacos, and Sopa de mariscos when you visit.

Apart from the food and drinks, the music and waiters here are nice and offer great services. However, prices of food and drinks are incredibly expensive. So if you are on a tight budget, kindly skip this place.

Overall, Tiki Bar is fantastic and one of the best beach bars to visit in Jaco.

Pubs

Orange Pub

Orange Pub is one of the best and most popular spots in Jaco to have some chilled drinks at night while you vibe to good music that is played by the DJ. There is a VIP section and a regular section so you get to choose which section you will be partying at for the night.

One thing I love about Orange Pub is that they have lots of drinks to choose from, including cocktails and beers. The service here is great, and there is a ramp that can be accessed by a wheelchair.

Also, be rest assured that the security here is tight and you will enjoy the ambiance too.

PuddleFish Brewery

PuddleFish is a great place to gather with friends and share drinks together. This nightlife spit is situated on the southern part of Jaco beach, which is calm and far away from the hustle and bustle of Jaco Town.

The incredible thing about this place, apart from the cold drinks, is the food. They have diverse kinds of local and international cuisines you would enjoy, like the Chicken Pesto Sandwich and Mahi Mahi sandwich.

Also, they offer drink tasting, so come on an empty stomach to explore and enjoy a variety of different types of drinks. You would also love the service and atmosphere here!

The Beer House

When you come here, you will not only enjoy the new but also the services and atmosphere. And the best part is that the drinks here are not as expensive as other pubs in the area.

They also offer happy hour at any time of the day, so you can buy drinks at a cheaper price. One of the recommended dishes you will enjoy here, along with your cold craft beer, is the Bufallo chicken wings. Overall, this place is a must-visit night spot.

If you are looking to spend the night at a strip club in Jaco, then G Spot is one of the best and most popular strip clubs to visit. This place is a complete blast with beautiful girls that make you feel special and bring you so much fun.

Aside from the pretty girls, the drinks here are also superb and not as pricey as other strip clubs in the area.

The customer service and security are also on point. Overall, this is one place in Jack where you can party all night long and feel satisfied in the end.

Centerfolds Gentlemen Club

Centerfords is a popular adult hangout in Jaco with beautiful stripers. The party room is fully air-conditioned and has great music that you can vibe to and dance to all night long.

Aside from the women and ambiance here, the waitresses are super friendly and attentive. The only downside is the exorbitant fees they charge for a lap dance; otherwise, centerfolds is a great place to get wasted for the night.

Cocal Hotel & Casino

This is a famous three-star hotel in Jaco with a strip club and casino in it. It is arguably the busiest adult hangout in Jaco. The exceptional thing about this place is that it is situated close to a beachfront, and you will have a blast when you visit.

The staff, service and atmosphere are on point. However, the drinks are way too pricey, and I would advise you to protect your valuables because even though there are cameras everywhere, the management would hardly get back to you if something goes missing.

If you are tired of dancing or watching stripers, you can gamble at the casino or book a reservation at the hotel if you feel too drunk to head home alone in the middle of the night. 

Safety Tips While Enjoying Nightlife in Jaco

Move in a Group

One of the best safety tips to have At the back of your mind before looking for a nice night spot to visit in Jaco, always go along with friends.

And these friends should be able to look out for you while you look out for them too. It would be best if you all went together and came back together.

A group of four or seven friends is better than a single person moving all by himself or herself in the night, not just in Jaco but at any tourist destination around the world.

Plan Ahead

Before heading for any night spot in Jaco, take our time to know the area where the club or bar is located to better acquaint yourself with the route to and from your accommodation.

Also, schedule the appropriate time to visit and how long you will be spending out before it gets too late to return to your accommodation.

This will help you a lot, especially if you are new to town.

Use Trusted Transportation

Always hail trusted and registered taxis or transportation services like Uber when moving at night, especially during odd hours.

Whether you are alone or in a group, I advise you to book your transportation in advance and only come out of the building to the street when you can confirm that the driver is outside the building.

Do not stand alone in the street for no reason during late-night hours.

Watch Your Drink

Regardless of whether you are in the company of trusted friends or not, always pay attention to your drinks and never leave them unattended.

Do not get carried away with the fun and neglect your drink. Anything can happen in the slightest second if you become unaware.

It’s best you get your drinks from the bartender yourself rather than send someone else to get it for you. This is not just applicable to Jaco but everywhere you go.

Have a Limit

Gulping alcohol irresponsibly, especially when you are the only one or in a group of people you really do not know or trust, can lead you into danger.

It’s best if you have a limit and reduce your intake of alcohol when you are outside at night and drink responsibly so you can stay in control and alert of yourself and your surroundings.

I advise you to drink enough water to dilute the alcohol in your body so you do not become easily intoxicated.

Stay in Populated,Well-Lit Areas

When visiting a night spot in Jaco, it is best to go to popular spots with tight security and  lots of people so you don’t get harassed or robbed unawares.

Also, avoid poorly lit bars, pubs, or clubs that are located in secluded areas or streets, no matter how popular they are. Only go to the ones that are on well-lit and busy streets, so you can walk freely at night.

Protect Your Valuables

I advise you to keep your valuables in the safe lock of your accommodation rather than carry them out to the club or bar at night.

Things like your credit card, jewelry and cameras are best kept in your accommodation. You can withdraw the amount you need for the night and leave your credit card at home.

However, if you must go out with any of your valuables, I advise you to keep them safe and close. No matter how much you are enjoying yourself, do not forget or leave your valuables in the care of someone.

Beware of Strangers

You will meet a lot of people at the club or bar who would want to be friends with you on the spot. Beware of people like this, and always trust your instincts when you find yourself in situations like this.

If you feel you should distance yourself from someone because of how uncomfortable they make you feel, do it immediately and don’t think twice.

Do not trust strangers with drinks, food, information, and so on. And do not follow anyone you do not know at home.

Stay Connected

Before moving out at night, ensure your mobile phone is fully charged and with you at all times. Do not go out letting friends know of your whereabouts.

It’s also best if you have the local emergency numbers so you can easily dial them in case of an emergency or any suspicious activity. The emergency number in Costa Rica is 911.
