• Sloths are rarely on the ground. Always look up at the treetops and through the trees. 
• Please don’t touch a sloth if you see one. Sloths get stressed when a human touches them. A particular moth species mates with and lays its eggs in sloths’ fur. 
• If you see an injured sloth, call 911 and ask for the nearest wildlife rescue centre. Ask a local for directions to the closest vet or if they can help. 
• Sloths tend to be more active during the more excellent parts of the day. Early morning hours or late afternoon are the most ideal time to see sloths. However, nocturnal moths, especially the two-toed ones found in Monteverde areas, are best seen at night.
