Cruisin’ Tikis Key West – A Bar On The Water!

If you are looking for a laid back experience where you can get a tour of Key West, call Cruisin’ Tiki’s Key West right now.  If you find yourself in the Florida Keys, this is one of those can’t miss experiences where you will look back and be glad you did this.  Sometimes travel is difficult and stressful, but at other times, being a travel blogger has it’s perks!

As they say on their website, “Why Go Bar Hopping When You Can Hop on a Bar?”

Sunset Tiki Cruise in Key West

Let’s start with exactly what this is.  What you get on your two hour excursion (we did this twice, and opted for the popular sunset cruise on both occasions) on a hurricane tested floating tiki bar complete with a Captain!  You get to drink (it’s BYOB), play music (using their bluetooth) and enjoy the sights and sounds of lovely Key West.

What a great way to capture everything, just cruising along Key West at your own pace.  You can even get out and jump in the water (when the Captain allows, of course)!

As if the road down to Key West isn’t scenic enough, you will see a lot of marine life during your journey.  Our Captain even stopped to point out some massive iguanas!

That’s the last time we went out and did the cruise.  That’s what I call a booze cruise!

The Cruisin’ Tikis Experience

We set out at 4PM and had the cruise until 8 pm.  While cruising around the island, seeing everything from wildlife, to houses, to historic venues, we were able to consume more alcohol than we planned on while we controlled the music from our bluetooth connection.  This is a really great experience for a group of people looking for a sunset cruise in Key West, or for people who want to get out on the water without the financial commitment of renting or chartering a boat.

The only negative thing about this experience is that you don’t have a restroom on board. So if you gotta go, plan on making your way to the water for that.

You have two options, you can do a seaport cruise, or a swim / stop cruise.  Unfortunately, you can only have 6 people on the cruise, so if you have a larger group, you will need to split into multiple tiki’s.

There are other options available for special events, which you can read about on their website.

  1. This sounds like a blast. I would love to do this with friends for the summer. We are trying to plan our summer trip we always do and this is definitely at the top of the list. What a fun way to explore the keys!
