Are Passports Necessary When Entering St. Croix?

At the end of the day, it’s important to know that you will not need a valid US passport to get into this country. Since it’s already part of the US Virgin Islands, it is a territory of the United States. So you are free to come and go as you please. It’s very similar to the passport requirements for St. Thomas.

On the other hand, things are different when it comes to trying to get back into the USA. If you are on an airplane and you want to come home, you will need to present customs with a passport to prove that you belong in the country. You will not get back home without it.

But, if you are trying to get home on a cruise that left from the United States from a particular port, you will be able to get back into the same port without having a valid passport.

Remember, certain problems arise all the time when traveling internationally. You may accidentally miss your boat and have to come home via airplane to get back into the country. So it’s always wise to have a valid passport on you at all times whenever you travel outside of the United States.
