July 2024 Travel Recap

July was a wild month for us, to put it lightly.  We had originally scheduled a trip to Minneapolis for a week where we’d get our annual Summer dose of the North Loop, but we had to cancel it.

Michelle’s Father passed away in Poland, so we dropped everything and did that.  It was expected, yet unexpected.  As we mentioned in last months trip report, he wasn’t doing very well and we had just returned from Wroclaw.

That said, we had to cancel a lot of outings in July.  In our brief travels we did find a really cool car service called Blacklane which we needed due to some early morning travel.  I really didn’t want to bet on an Uber or Lyft driver getting us at the crack of dawn and found this to be a great way to ensure a first class trip to the airport.  Check them out if you ever are in a similar situation or want to get a more luxury experience when you travel as they are in many major cities globally.

Being we were mostly local in South Florida, we did hit a few of our favorite places. One of the best nights was at Capriccio in Pembroke Pines, which is a phenomenal Italian restaurant which impressed our hard to impress friends.  We also made it back to D’Angelos in Fort Lauderdale, so we had a pretty hefty helping of Italian this month and I’m not mad about it!

Of course, we did our usual Wednesday happy hour at Acquolina in Weston, our home town.  If you are ever around these parts, it’s a must visit.

On Friday, July 19th, we hit up a favorite spot of ours for some lunch and ice cold beers.  The weather has been unbearable lately, so this was a perfect place to get out of the scorching heat and relax.  That place is a short drive away in the city of Dania Beach, and the venue is 3 Son’s Brewing. If you like great food and ice cold beer, I can’t recommend this place enough.

On Saturday, the 20th, we watched our friend Kam in his first ever MMA fight at the 305 Fights in Miami.  He put up a good fight, but ended up losing.  We’re all proud of him and look forward to watching his young career get going.

What I’ve really focused on this month, since we didn’t travel like we wanted to, was growing our YouTube Channel. If you haven’t seen it, give it a watch as I like to do a lot of updates and keep people informed as to what’s going on in the world of travel. You’ll find a lot of travel advisories, guides to various destinations and visiting Costa Rica, and much, much more.

I also altered the navigation on our home page so the site has a cleaner look and feel.  It should make for a much better browsing experience and help people key in on topics they are searching for.

We’re doing our best to plan a trip for August, but there are a lot of moving parts with Jr. going back to school for the fall semester, so we’ll be spending some time up and UCF in Orlando.
