Recently added to the Marriott hotels brands is the hotel known as the Holiday Inn Aurola. This centrally located hotel is by Parque Morazan in the center of town. The hotel also offers meeting rooms for business travelers.
One of the tallest buildings in all of San josé, this is an older property but a great home base if you want to be centrally located. It’s also the cheapest Marriott hotel in San Jose. It’s located near several restaurants within walking distance. The property features an indoor swimming pool and full business center.
All other Marriott properties are located in surrounding suburbs in the area, not technically in San Jose, but definitely nearby.
AC Hotel San Jose Escazu
When I was living in Escazu this wasn’t up yet, but after many return trips I’ve passed by this property. The AC is in a great location in an affluent area of the city and provides easy access to many local restaurants and golf courses. The hotel also features a state-of-the-art fitness center.
Sheraton San Jose Hotel – Escazu
Another one in Escazu, this is my favorite of the group. The hotel also offers conference facilities for business events. Featuring a full blown casino, luxury bar, and multiple dining options, this also puts you near the multipaza mall and many nearby attractions in Escazu.
Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen
I’ve put up a full review of this property on this page. It’s a bit outside of downtown San Jose, but offers a great location if you are looking for a sprawling property with many amenities with a convenient location near the Juan Santamaria International airport. The hotel offers luxurious spa services for guests. While it’s a beautiful property with a lot to offer on premises, there isn’t much to do around this hotel.
