Launched by Joe Ehlenz & Brad Nordeen, Stillwater Proper is the latest addition by the duo, renowned for creating local favorites, such as Lolo American Kitchen and Lolito Cantina.
Sharing the space with 45th Parallel Distilling, Stillwater Proper offers fantastically crafted food and drinks with stellar customer service. This business works with local farmers and small brewers to create one-of-a-kind experiences that will have you coming back for more.

Rustic Decor with a Beautiful Interior Space
This 227 Main St. restaurant and bar has a rustic decor, with brick walls, wooden tables, aged-barrel stools, and old-fashioned hanging lights. It even has outdoor seating.
I’ve been to many places where the ambiance was the star of the evening while the food was just okay. Equipped with such experiences, I didn’t have high expectations, but Stillwater Proper proved me wrong!
A Diverse and Delicious Food Menu at Stillwater Proper
Stillwater Proper offers unique food offerings that you can enjoy any time of the day. I went along with a couple of friends for lunch, and let me tell you; it was a fantastic experience.
You’ll find a wide range of dishes, including delicious starters, smashed burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, sticky rice bowls, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. It even has a couple of options for kids!
As we sat at our seats and glanced over the menu, the first thing that called out my name was the Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowl, so I had to try that.
My friends ordered the Avocado BLT Sandwich and Triple Grilled Cheese. Feeling a bit hungrier than usual, I also decided to give Burrata a try as well.

Glancing over the drinks menu, I realized that the cocktails had super cute names, such as “The Nina, The Pinta, the Santa Maria,” “Blue Balls,” and “Sincerely, the Breakfast Club.” It goes to show that the team behind the bar put a whole lot of effort into creating something original and fun.
With so many different options to choose from, we were spoiled for choice. I couldn’t settle on any one drink, so I asked the friendly staff to guide me. The person taking our order was courteous and extremely patient. In the end, we ended up getting “Jive Turkey,” “Teen Wolf,” and a root beer.
We Had a One-of-a-kind Food and Drinks Experience
It didn’t take long before we got served. The Teriyaki Salmon with sticky rice was scrumptious, and the fish was flaky and super tasty. I had a bite of my friend’s avocado sandwich, and to be honest, it was the best BLT I’ve had in a while, and he agreed.
I washed down the sticky rice bowl with “Jive Turkey” and had a couple of sips of the other cocktails ordered. All in all, the drinks were delicious (highly recommend the rootbeer), service was solid, food was scrumptious, and the decor made it a lovely place to enjoy my afternoon.
