Located on the iconic Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman, you will find world class dining here at Tille’s.
This is one of the best restaurants on the island, and you won’t go wrong with any of the classic Caribbean dishes that you can find here. We had dinner here on our last trip, and this is our Tillie’s review. We will definitely be back to try their breakfast and lunch options as the menus are all very different.
Why is Tillie’s Grand Cayman such a treat? Let me tell you about it!
Tillie’s Grand Cayman Review
Since Tillie’s Grand Cayman is located on iconic Seven Mile Beach, you can expect a beautiful stage for a meal you won’t soon forget.
The breathtaking view of the water and a menu that both traveler and local alike can enjoy leads the senses to a clean and refined approach to modern eclectic fare, as well as familiar favorites of the Greater Antilles.
Tillie’s is located in the only all-suite boutique hotel called the Palm Heights. It’s among the most expensive on the Island, right up there with the famous Ritz Carlton 7 Mile Beach.
Grab a Taste of the Antilles at Tillie’s
With a focus on regional cuisines, you will find a multitude of options when you glance at Tillie’s menu.
Local produce is used when possible, and Tillies aims to have a set menu that brings friends and family together across the table.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as special events such as high tea.
Some of my favorite individual dishes I’ve had at Tillie’s include the grilled lobster tail and creamed corn for dinner and Tillies French Toast for breakfast. I also always enjoy the fresh local seafood dishes that are served as well as the salads, which are phenomenal.
When I was at Tillie’s Grand Cayman a few months ago with friends, I even saw other diners remark on how delicious the food was, and of course, people were taking photos of the inviting dishes inspired by the Caribbean.
What I Like Best About Tillie’s in Grand Cayman
Honestly, the thing I like most about Tillie’s in addition to the location on Seven Mile Beach is vast menu that caters to almost anyone.
If you like seafood, you will love it, of course, but other food is available, too, including vegan dishes and curry, which takes you on a culinary voyage through the Greater Antilles. There is even a burger on the menu!
Naturally, as we took in the Cayman sunset, I opted for a cocktail. Weirdly, I went for a vesper, as I had a lot of sugary drinks throughout the day and wanted something without the sweetness.
What I Didn’t Like About Tillie’s Restaurant
I could say this for a lot of the venues in Cayman, so it’s not a knock on Tillie’s in specific, but the outdoor seating was very hot. I think that the landscaping and shade they provide somehow keeps the heat locked in. It was a bit uncomfortable at 6:30 and we weren’t the only people stating this. We had the same reservation time at the Wharf, but the location there provides a bit more of a sea breeze.
The staff is fully dressed in a classic white jacket and black pants outfit for dinner. Our waiter was sweating profusely. If I owned this venue I’d change up the attire as again, we noticed it, and so did some diners behind us. Our waiter looked very uncomfortable in the Summer heat. It was very noticeable.
You are probably thinking, that’s all you had bad to say about this place?
Yep. That’s it. It was worth pointing out and won’t deter us from future visits.
It’s a Dining Paradise
The wine list if wonderful, as is the cocktail list, and you would be hard pressed to find another restaurant on Grand Cayman with better eclectic fare. Informed diners will always make reservations at Tillie’s, as it’s always attracting visitors.
You don’t want to miss your opportunity to dine where the clear waters sets a scene of paradise.

They start you off with this incredible, doughy bread. Served with fresh butter and grated sea salt, it hit the spot!
Summary
It’s no wonder Tillie’s on 7 Mile Beach gets so many rave reviews. A serene setting, right on the beach, coupled with great dishes and friendly service, you can’t go wrong here. For this reason we added this to our list of must visit Cayman restaurants.
