I grew up in Eagan, Minnesota, and am a proud graduate of Eagan High School class of 1997. I get back to my home town every Summer and make sure to visit my old haunts as well as experience new ones. One sports bar that is a must-visit if you find yourself in the area is the Trail Stop Tavern on Diffley Road. Today I’ll share my full Trail Stop Tavern review and tell you why it’s one of my favorite places to eat and drink in Eagan, Minnesota.
Trail Stop Tavern Location
The official address is below:
525 Diffley Rd, Eagan, MN 55123.
If you get on Diffley Road heading towards Eagan High School, drive about two more miles until you reach highway 3. As you approach that intersection, take a quick left before you arrive at the highway, and in the corner of the strip mall you’ll see Trail Stop Tavern sports bar.
Trail Stop Tavern Menu
Offering typical Midwest bar food, you’l find no shortage of great food options here. They have wings, burgers, flatbreads, sandwiches, sliders, quesadillas, along with local favorites like cheese curds.
You’ll also find seasonal dishes like meat loaf, mashed potatoes, and in the Summer months, a jalapeno stuffed pretzel!
If you want to eat on the healthier side, they offer a wide variety of bowls that range from teriyaki to blackened cod. The cool thing about the Trail Stop Tavern is that they offer something for everyone, whether you want to pig out or eat clean, they have you covered.
If you find yourself visiting the Twin Cities and want to enjoy the best cuisine, I recommend you check out the following local favorites:
What is the Trail Stop Tavern Known For?
For me, I get that neighborhood bar feel as soon as I enter. Everything from photos of the local high school sports teams, to pull tabs supporting the local hockey association, to the vibrant bar setting with many regulars, I just feel at home here. This is your typical neighborhood joint where if you are social, everyone will know your name if you want them to. You’l experience “Minnesota Nice” at it’s finest here and see why people are widely considered the nicest in the United States.
For me, I’m a beer and wings guy when I’m sitting at the bar catching up with friends and watching live sports. The fact that they sell Pull Tabs at Trail Stop Tavern is a sweet bonus and you’ll see people getting down on tabs every day starting at lunch.
You’ll definitely get to experience the meaning of “Minnesota Nice” when you visit this Eagan pub!
Whether you seek lunch, dinner, late night eats, or just some cold ones at happy hour, Trail Stop Tavern in Eagan is one of the best places you’ll find in the South Metro area.
