Great food is a passion of mine, and as a Fort Lauderdale native, I am so lucky to be surrounded by amazing restaurants. There are many restaurants in Fort Lauderdale that I love, from the fancier places offering oceanfront views to the greasy spoon diners with delicious comfort food.
Here in Fort Lauderdale, there is something for everyone when it comes to breakfast, and I want to share some of my favorite breakfast and brunch spots in the area:
Jet Runway Cafe – Brioche French Toast? Yes, Please
Tucked away in the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, Jet Runway Cafe is one of my favorite places for breakfast. It was originally opened in 2008 for pilots and other aviation professionals, but it soon became a hidden gem and go to spot for locals looking for a unique experience for breakfast.
The menu here is filled with amazing food. Serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, you will find everything from pancakes and french toast made with brioche to eggs benedict and omelets.
The atmosphere is sleek and casual, and it’s a wonderful place to meet with friends and family. You can have an amazing meal, have a great conversation, and watch the planes taking off right outside the floor to ceiling windows.

Foxy Brown – Where Comfort Food and Innovation Meet
If you are looking for good comfort food with a twist, consider Foxy Brown. This is a cool place on Federal Hwy that has a welcoming atmosphere and good food. Based on the concept of classic diner foods like a patty melt and milkshake, Foxy Brown is a one of my favorite places for brunch in the area.
Brunch here is an amazing experience, and the food is always fresh and flavorful. One of my favorite options here is the Banana Bread Grilled Cheese, and I also love the Chicken and Waffle dish, which features maple bacon chicken wings.
The vibe at Foxy Brown is casual, and the moment you walk in, you can feel the gastropub atmosphere. This place is popular for locals on the weekend for brunch, and with both indoor and outdoor seating, you can find the best of comforting flavors and innovation on every plate.

Village Cafe – Casual, Warm, and Welcoming Atmosphere
Located just a block from the beach, Village Cafe has been around for about a decade, and it’s known for its fresh ingredients and globally inspired comfort food.
One thing I love about Village Cafe is that they start serving brunch at 8am, and they serve it every day. Some days they even serve their brunch menu into the evening. Customer favorites include the Ranchero Burrito, filled with eggs, sausage, beans, and cheese, which you get with every bite, and the French Toast, which is topped with strawberries, bananas, and syrup.
Here, the bar is open all day serving amazing hand crafted cocktails, which are perfect paired with the breakfast options. There is a cozy, casual ambiance here, and you can expect both indoor and patio seating.

Java & Jam – All Day Breakfast & Weekend Brunch
Java & Jam is a Fort Lauderdale favorite, too, and this is definitely a breakfast or brunch location that you will greatly enjoy. Located on Las Olas Blvd, Java & Jam offers an elevated experience for those who are seeking out the best quality food and experience.
The brunch menu here is very creative and forward thinking. There are classic tastes of home like eggs and toast here, but they also offer unique offerings like Shakshuka and Banana Bread French Toast. Also, don’t make the mistake of not getting a specialty coffee/tea like the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chai.
You certainly feel like you are living the good life when you dine here. It gets very busy for brunch, especially on the weekend, and there is always a line for a table. You can, however, reserve a time right on the website, and as long as your party is there when the time comes, you will be seated. Oh! Also, if you have a dog, this restaurant is dog friendly, and they even have a “puppy platter,” so your pup can eat breakfast right along with you.

Cafe Bastille – French Style and Atmosphere
Cafe Bastille has been part of the Fort Lauderdale community since 2023, and if offers an amazing all-day brunch experience that will bring a bit of Paris to your meal.
This is one of my favorite brunch menus, and it’s filled with both sweet and savory options. Some of the highlights include Crispy French Toast Bites, Red Velvet Pancakes, and Frank’s Famous Hash. Another thing I like is the bottomless mimosas and Bellini’s as well as the sangria pitchers.
When you walk into the restaurant, it certainly feels like you are walking into a Parisian cafe, and there is a gorgeous waterfront patio. On top of this, they host a live DJ on the weekends, which just adds more to the ambiance you will find at Cafe Bastille.
