Timbr is the one of the latest restaurants to open in Fort Lauderdale and we decided to celebrate a couple of birthdays on a Friday night and give it a full review.
In this Timbr review, we’ll get into what is making this fine dining destination in Fort Lauderdale a popular place with locals and tourists alike.
Timbr Fort Lauderdale Overview
Located in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, TIMBR is a modern dining concept with a very unique decor and two very different dining rooms.

The Cuisine at TIMBR
TIMBR blends a modern American dining experience mixed with some European classics.
We started out with a few of their appetizers. At our servers recommendation, we had the oxtail empanadas, which were a huge hit with our group! We also had the mussels frites, tuna tartare, and octopus papas bravas. We loved every one of them, but especially the oxtail empanadas.
Moving onto the entrees, Michelle and a friend of ours had the braised lamb shank and I have to say, that was the highlight of the dinner menu. I’m not even a huge fan of lamb, but this one was spectacular!
They also offer artisanal pizzas, a mushroom risotto, and a beef wellington. The menu is very well thought out and there is something for everyone here.
We all had craft cocktails and were thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail.

As an aside, with two birthdays to celebrate, our server COMPED US for these two desserts. What an amazing gesture!

TIMBR Location
Located at 15 West Las Olas, this is just west of the main strip across from area where the Wharf is currently located. Its easy to get to and parking is adjacent in the lot next door or in the ramp to the south side. Overall, parking wasn’t a major issue for us and they even offer valet at nearby venues if you prefer that.

The Miami New Times said it “might be the sexiest spot on Las Olas” which is a huge statement!
Google reviews currently sit at 4.5 stars out of 5 with over 500 reviews.
People have called the vibe “electric” which I entirely agree with as the mood lighting didn’t spare any details. Everything is to the nines here no matter which of the three areas you choose to drink or dine in. It’s three vibes rolled into one place with none of them being a letdown if I’m being totally frank.
Other restaurants with similar reviews in Fort Lauderdale include the Bib Gourmand winning Heritage Fort Lauderdale, and Kim Bokamper’s Catch and Cut on Las Olas.
The Ownership Group
3 Hospitality brought the most anticipated restaurant to Fort Lauderdale after many years in concept development and immaculate planning around construction and interior design. The group consists of Max Van Fleet, Paul Brown, and Michael Tronn.
Each person brings a long list of success in the industry. Mr. Van Fleet, the CEO, has been doing business for many years on Las Olas Boulevard.
Mr. Brown, an FSU grad and the COO, has been a partner in many restaurant and nightlife brands all across Florida and even as far as Las Vegas.
The CMO and creative director, Mr. Tronn, is a pioneer in the industry. His body of work spans from New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. He designed the venue and is credited for the concept of “Vineyard cuisine.”
They carefully selected their executive chef, Robyn Almodovar, who has done an excellent job creating a menu that pairs perfectly with the modern and natural ambiance TIMBR provides.
Their experience is on great display here as this is one of the most unique establishments in the area, if not the USA.
TIMBR Dress Code
I’d urge you to dress no less than business casual, with a stress on being on the trendy side. I haven’t found a formal dress code, but nobody was letting the ambiance down by dressing down. I’d urge you dress to impress here.
In Summary
TIMBR is a welcome addition to the Las Olas restaurants scene. It’s a tough reservation to get, so think ahead, dress well, and enjoy one of the areas new stars on the culinary scene.
